CranioSacral Therapy for Migraines
October 15th 2006 02:30
Dr. John Upledger, D.O., the discoverer of craniosacral therapy. has this to say about how it works with migraines..
CranioSacral Therapy has been used successfully to relieve a variety of sensory and/or motor neurological dysfunctions. In addition to headaches, neck and back pain, it's been used effectively on jaw dysfunction, chronic fatigue, muscle coordination difficulties, depression, eye problems, hyperactivity, central nervous system disorders and many other conditions.
So this does look like something that may knock off my cluster headaches as well as strengthening my resistance to migraines. Since visiting the wholistic dentist and having some migraine relief from the excercises her prescribed, I'm convinced that one of the more serious triggers for me is structural. This is probably why, although I have been trying desperately to find a common thread for the cluster headaches I'm now having, I haven't been able to ideltify anything dietry as the cause.
I've got a very stiff neck today and have had for the past few days. Who knows if this is because of the Cluster Headaches, or is causing them. Either way, Cranio Sacral therapy may be able to offer me some relief.
I've found a local practitioner, here http://www.naturaltherapypages.com.au/therapist/4001and I'll make an appointment on Monday to see what they can do for me.
